Spheron’s (previously ArgoApp) V2 is launched: Making blockchain deployment easy for developers

V2 brings DAI Token Integration

Today is 2 July 2021 & we are super excited to reveal our upgraded version to the world. This day marks the hard work that the team has put in to bring more efficiency & stability to our platform. We wanted to introduce our own $ARGO token integration with this version but as Chainlink has a requirement of listing in at least 2 centralized exchanges, to be able to include $ARGO token in their price feeds, we had to take an alternate route. We use Chainlink price feeds to accurately calculate the tokens required for deployment in our smart contracts. Considering the current market trend, it would not have been a viable move to list $ARGO in new exchanges. Moreover, we are focused on product development right now & shifting focus towards the token price does not fit into our roadmap. Thus, announcing DAI Token integration which is a stable coin that is a decentralized, unbiased, collateral-backed cryptocurrency soft-pegged to the US Dollar.

DAI is an asset that keeps its value without significant depreciation over time & it is designed to function as a store of value even in a volatile market. It is already used around the world for all types of transactional purposes. This will ensure easy onboarding of the dApp developers. Previously, the users were required to hold Arweave wallet to use the platform since we accepted $AR (Arweave Native Token) as payment for every deployment. With this release, any payment transactions can be done using MetaMask itself.

The Bug Bounty Campaign

The campaign has been launched and we have already received 250+ entries for the Bug Hunt. Rewards worth $3000 have been announced for developers who will be helping us find critical issues, making the platform as bug-free as possible. Thus, making the developer experience frictionless & customer-centric. The program ends on 10th July 2021 & the participants need to fill up a form to enter the competition. We will be sending a welcome email to the participants, post which they will be able to access the platform & raise issues on GitHub. This campaign allows us to involve our community in development activities & continue to keep them engaged & reward them at every instance possible.

Gitcoin Grant

We are a developer-centric protocol, inspired by @gitcoin, that loves to incentivize public goods. Our Beta V2 is Live now & we are preparing to incentivize our developer community for bug bounties, feedback campaigns, community engagement & ecosystem building. We have already received 350+ contributions for the grant & we are extremely thankful for the support given to us by the community. We will make sure that the amount collected through this initiative reaches the most deserved members of our community.

#ArGoTimes is back

Generating awareness around blockchain & decentralization is one of our top priorities & we take it very seriously. We have created several social media tools to educate the members of the community who are new to blockchain. #ArGoTimes is one such tool that was created to reach out to new communities through AMA sessions. We are doing back-to-back AMAs this time starting today at 2 PM UTC every day, in hope of engaging the community during this weekend as well as bringing in more people to Spheron’s (previously ArgoApp) from different backgrounds & ethnicities. Last week, we did a Live Video AMA within our community & one of the active members named Goodsonzak was rewarded with 100 $ARGO tokens as part of the competition that was conducted during the event for asking good quality questions. The session was very well received by the community & everyone was updated about our progress & upcoming plans by our CEO, Prashant Maurya.

June Recap

With a clear focus on engagement, we were able to maintain our engagement rate on Twitter throughout the month of June. A healthy engagement rate of 1.6% made sure the community was engaged hence we were able to generate 1000 retweets & 2500 likes during the month. 178 tweets helped us garner 595k impressions with more than 51k profile visits & 1000+ mentions. We created a poll last week to get community feedback on our content quality & get some suggestions to keep the community engaged. Surprisingly, 73% of votes were positive & we received some interesting suggestions from the active members of the community as well.

Telegram has been doing well & the engagement is high as usual. With more than 350+ active members exchanging 4k+ messages during the month, we are conducting more AMAs this week with 3 communities to increase the engagement & add some new members to our community.

#ArGoToken was trending on Twitter in India during the month. This trend helped $ARGO gain some more traction on the charts & assisted brand Spheron (previously ArgoApp) to gain some well-deserved respect from peers & community supporters. In fact, during the recent global outage, we were able to create a great narrative around Spheron’s (previously ArgoApp) decentralized blockchain-enabled products & features on Twitter, stating, this outage could have been avoided if the affected big giants were deployed on the blockchain using our decentralized hosting & storage partners.
