Our first ever Community Call on Discord was both Exciting & Engaging

There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what matters the most. Hence, we strongly believe in staying close to our community. We absolutely love connecting with our community as it not only gives us an opportunity to engage with them but also allows us to get instant feedback on our progress & content strategy, which has worked wonders for us so far. We are a customer-obsessed organization & we deeply understand the importance of staying connected to our early adopters, well-wishers, supporters & community members. We see our future users in our community who will drive the ecosystem that we wish to create. An ecosystem that will consist of complete transparency & reliability. A decentralized blockchain-enabled community that will be self-dependent & will work for the betterment of society.

We are extremely excited to announce that we have taken another step towards customer obsession. We wish to connect with our future adopters, hence we decided to focus on the platform which has a high number of knowledge-seeking developers. Discord is a community-based chatting app that allows you to directly connect with other people within your niche. It has more than 140 million monthly active users & is one of the best places to find developers.

With extreme enthusiasm & fanfare, we started our first ever community call on Discord this week. Based on a poll conducted by us on Twitter & Telegram, we decided to initiate this community call on every Wednesday at 1.30 PM UTC (7 PM IST). Just like our Telegram-based Live Video AMAs, we received a good turnaround on Discord as well & we were able to conduct an engaging session this last Wednesday with several active community members. Several positive thoughts were exchanged & the community was updated on the latest progress we have made on the product front by one of our founders Mitrasish Mukherjee and his talented team of full-stack developers.

Here are some of the highlights of the Community Call that was conducted on Discord in the voice-based #general channel.

➤ We started our session by welcoming everyone & then the first point of discussion was the storage API and building a use case for backing up subgraphs in Arweave. We talked about some implementation constraints with the original Arweave lib for uploading data, which can be easily solved with the Spheron (previously ArgoApp) Storage API that we will be building in Q3.

➤ We also talked about interactive NFT and how it can create some really interesting use cases by converting a complete website into an NFT that can interact with actors based on the ruleset injected during the build.

➤ The community was updated about the upcoming features & bug fixes that we will be introducing in our next release and how it can help developers to deploy their web easily onto the decentralized protocols.

➤ Special emphasis was given on how to grow our developer community and build analytics tools for Spheron (previously ArgoApp) to attract a bigger developer base.

➤ Also discussed were some improvements regarding our docs which will be implemented soon.

➤ We also addressed the elephant in the room and talked about the payment method and why we introduced the $DAI token in place of $ARGO. We clarified how our payment contract is versatile and introducing new tokens for payments wouldn’t be a big deal. But for introducing $ARGO token for payments we need to meet certain requirements from Chainlink so as to list our token in their price feed list. These requirements are not viable with the current market conditions hence an alternate & cost-effective decision was taken to increase mass adoption of our platform as $DAI is a stablecoin.

➤ Last but not the least, we wrapped up by discussing improvements needed for the next community call and decided to send out a recurring calendar invite that will allow anyone to join our community call and subscribe to it.
